Wilson Museum opens for the season
The Wilson Museum opens for the season on Thursday, May 27. The staff is excited to celebrate the 100th anniversary season with visitors and has planned special seasonal exhibits and a variety of special events, according to a press release. Seasonal exhibits include “Wilson Family: A Window into the Past,” which honors the Wilson family, while “The Schooner Bowdoin Turns 100” will celebrate Maine Maritime Academy’s Arctic schooner, the official state vessel of Maine. Special events include a 1920s speakeasy-themed members’ reception, open house and more. Additionally, woodturning and blacksmithing demonstrations will once again be offered in July and August alongside guided tours of the Perkins House. Campus: Open May 27 through September 30, weekdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends 2 to 5 p.m. Currently, masks required indoors.
Demonstrations: Woodturning, blacksmithing and more in July and August, Sunday and Wednesday, 2 to 5 p.m.
Perkins House Guided Tours: July and August, Sunday and Wednesday, 30-minute tours beginning at 2 p.m. with a small charge.
