Maine Maritime Academy held a solemn ceremony at 4 p.m. on Monday, September 11, to remember those who died on September 11, 2001. Capt. Mark Winter spoke briefly, meaningfully and eloquently, describing the terrible events of that day 22 years ago and noted that most of the students attending the ceremony were not yet born when the attacks took place. Winter encouraged students to seek out and speak with people who were alive at the time to gain a fuller understanding of the significance of the day’s events.
