In the only contested race of the election cycle, Jake Simmons was voted in as the newest member of the Castine School Board, winning 111-89 over candidate Kelly Gualtieri on November 5.

Current Castine Board of Selectmen chairman Peter Vogell received 182 votes in an uncontested race to retain his seat on the board, while Berna Kaiserian received 201 votes for a five-year seat on the Library Board. Deborah Neve received 191 votes for a two-year term on the Library Board.

The vote for Question 1, an infrastructure bond question, was overwhelmingly in favor, with 186 yes votes to only 22 no votes. The same was the case for Question 2, a Constitutational amendment for alternative signatures, with 174 yes votes and 32 no votes.

Of the 1,055 registered voters in Castine, 209 cast their votes, with 27 coming in as absentee ballots. Penobscot voters approved both state ballot questions, with 196 ballots cast of 1,084 registered voters.
