Selectmen to discuss rental ordinance
Public hearing scheduled

A public hearing to discuss the proposed Rental Housing Ordinance in Castine is scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday, May 21, at Emerson Hall.

According to the latest draft of the ordinance, the purpose of the document “is to provide a program for the listing of residential rental properties located in Castine, providing the town with emergency contact information and to provide owners and managers basic safety guidelines for housing.”

Immediately following the public hearing, the selectmen will open up an informational session to discuss the 2018 Town Meeting warrant.
