Castine Golf Club helps Wood Bank
The Castine Golf Club has donated the downed logs from their winter tree pruning program to the Castine Wood Bank, according to a news release from the club.
Stack of wood for wood bank
Co-founders of the Castine Wood Bank Pedrick Sweet, left, and Gil Tenney with CGC Greens Committee Chairman Patrick Haugen. The stack of wood behind the men and the trunk to their left will take two years to be dry enough to use due to their size. Burman will deliver the oak to the Resource Recovery Center where volunteers will cut it to usable size.
Bill Burman offloads logs which will be cut down to size by the Castine Wood Bank volunteers and stacked like the dried wood to the right.
