Let it snow
Snow, and then more snow, fell across Penobscot and Castine over the past week, including a Thursday, January 4, blizzard that dumped well over a foot of snow and closed down schools, businesses and town offices. Part of every snowfall is the cleanup the next morning, and plow trucks, snowblowers and shovels were hard at work by Friday morning.
As the sun rises over Castine Harbor Friday morning, crews had already cleared village downtown roads.

Back Shore in Castine
After a January 4 blizzard and days of near-zero temperatures, Back Shore in Castine offered a view of ice on the beach and white caps rolling in on Penobscot Bay.
