One fish, two fish
Counting the small alewives as they made their annual spring-time runs through Walker Pond in Brooksville, and Wight’s and Pierce ponds in Penobscot, took volunteers using counters and dipnets.
The fish ladder at Wight’s Pond, which doesn’t work, Bailey Bowden said, will be replaced this summer and fall with a stone weir fishway.
