Throughout the storm, the lights flickered in Castine and went out in Penobscot, rain slanted down, and the roads were strewn with debris—some left from the removal of downed trees. In all, close to 4,000 households lost power in Hancock County, according to Bangor Hydro reports, but they were restored by the day’s end.
